USA Track & Field will heighten anti-doping education initiatives at its three youth national championships in 2008 and will begin in-competition drug testing at the 2009 championship events. The programs are a partnership with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and are tied to USATF's Zero Tolerance anti-doping initiative and Win With Integrity youth outreach program.

In an unusual case of allowing corporate giving to be guided by community input, the Denver store of outdoor clothing manufacturer Patagonia is asking area residents to select a local environmental organization to receive a $4,000 grant.  Consumers can cast their ballots in the Patagonia store from June 10 through July 19 in a “Voice Your Choice” campaign that marks the newest initiative in Patagonia’s well-known support of environmental causes.

I hope that you all had as good a time over the past 12 months as I have, fitting in fun and challenging events as well as interesting and exciting travel. I've already got my 2008 calendar up on the wall and am working on marking it with plenty of great activities and adventures.
